Letters to my Enemies

The letter you’re writing is a farewell letter to your loved ones in the event if you were to die in the line of duty and as your final wish, you ask your family to seek forgiveness for the killer.

Hello family and friends, if you are reading this letter then you probably know by now that I have died in the line of duty. Please know that my death is not in vain, for I have touched the lives of many during my tenure as a Police Officer, from helping troubled youth find the right path to protecting men and women from vicious family/spousal abuse. Please do not be angry at my killer for he does not understand what he has done, only God can judge and condemn him but I do not wish that. As I’m writing this letter, I pray that you’ll forgive him and that God will burden his heart for the deeds he has committed and pray that he’ll be a changed man in time.

To mom and dad, please do not grieve the loss of your son for he is reunited with God. Be joyful and remember the time you spent raising and nurturing me, be joyful at the life I have created for myself and lead. Know that this isn’t the end of my story but simply another beginning. With love, your son, Michael

To my friends, I appreciate the friendship and memories that we forged together. Hold our bond deep in your hearts and know that you all are a reflection of who I am and who we are. Sincerely, Mikey

To my wife, you have been the greatest person to have ever entered into my life, you forged me into being a better Police Officer and into an even better man, husband, and father. Please do not mourn my death for I will be reunited with you in the kingdom of God. I wish I was able to grow old with you, see the growth of our beautiful children and make everlasting memories with you all but that sadly isn’t the case now. Do know that I will always be in your heart and that I will always be with you. I love you babe… your hubby, Michael.

To Mark and Rachel, I love you two so much and I wish I were to still be by your side but sadly, that won’t be the case. Mark, you are such a strong and courageous boy, so I need you to protect and watch over your mom, okay bud? No matter how hard life gets, get up, fight back and keep moving forward. Rachel, you are such a sweetheart and you remind me of your mother in so many ways because of this, I know that you will help mom around the house and take up for her whenever she is sad. Know this Rachel, you are stronger than you often make yourself out to be. Find that inner strength and harness it. With love, Dad.
