Three Parts to Go: Into the Woods

“Jacob, did you hear that?” Trevor’s eyes were wide as he shook with fear.   He had just heard the sound of sticks that broke in the distance, and his mind couldn't stop thinking about the worst. It didn’t help that Trevor and Jacob were alone in the woods, the sun only gave a glimpse of light as it descended. “Yes, lets try to ignore what we heard and keep moving," Jacob was Trevor’s big brother and when he noticed Trevor’s fearful eyes he knew what he had to do which was to stay calm for his sake.   Trevor stopped to listen in on the woods “we better hurry back, it’s starting to get dark and I really don’t want to be stuck out here.” As he stood in one place the woods around him grew more dark, his imagination ran faster with every possible fear he had stored away. “We don’t even know this path” he said as Jacob pushed him along.   “We won’t get anywhere if you continue to stand around”  “I told you we should’ve taken a different path, like the o...

Trauma

Madelyn was playing with her friends in the ball pit having the time of her life. Throwing balls at each other, burying each other, and trying to juggle. Then it was time for dinner- “Kids, it’s time to eat”, Jenna yelled, trying to gather all the kids. “We are coming mom!” Madelyn said, running to the table. They all gathered around the table and got ready to eat the delicious greasy pizza.  “Hey Kids”, The mascot said as he turned the corner. “OH NO!, AHHHH.” Madelyn yelled. Madelyn, hiding under the table, crying in fear. “I heard someone is turning nine years old, where’s the birthday girl?”, Chucky asked the group. Nobody knew where Madelyn was. Jenna looked all around until she saw little feet peeking out from under the table.  “Madelyn, what on earth are you doing under the table and why are you crying?”, asked Jenna. “Mom, I’m not coming out from under this table. That thing is terrifying.” Madelyn said with tears streaming down h...

Late Night Drive

Amber was driving home after one of her college parties one late and rainy night, she was downtown and the town   It was like a ghost, everyone was sound asleep in their beds but she wasn’t she was jamming out and singing a long to her favorite artist. The parties she goes to often has alcohol but   she knew she would have to drive home so because of that she barley drank, at least not enough to get plastered she has a slight buzz but she can focus on the road still. As she’s jamming out trying to stay awake, she notices a person standing on the side of the road waiting to cross. Amber thought she had the right of way so she kept going . She did not realize until it was too late the person on the side of the street was no longer on the side but now in the middle of the street. She had hit him going 40 miles an hour, the person smacked to windshield and flew over her car. This is when Amber came to a complete stop, she looked back in her rearview mirror which is when s...

A Story in an Hour or Less (part 4 - the scenes)

Part 4: Scene 1 Before the conversation- James watches as Ashley gets dressed. Her long, brown, curl hair draped over her head as she leans down to pull her black skinny jeans up her legs. When she flipped her head back James smiled and met her blue/green eyes. “What are you staring at?” she smiles back at James.  “I just can’t believe how lucky I am to have you” he says softly walking towards her to kiss her forehead.  “You tell me that everyday” She laughs embracing James after he kisses her. “And everyday I mean it even more” James hugs her back in their small bathroom, he dreams of the day he’s going to ask her to marry him. He wants it to be elaborate, he’s written her a song he’ll play when the proposal happens. Her whole family and his will be there on the outskirts watching as he proposes. When she says yes, their families will rush out of nowhere popping Champagne bottles and cheering for the two. Jame’s has a few details to work out, but the days a...

A Story in an Hour or Less (Part 1-3)

Part 1: A: “I have to tell you what happened this morning” B: “About when Ashley stole your camera?” A: “Well yes that relates, but I didn’t tell you what I saw when she gave it back to me, did I?” B: “No, what did you see? Did she destroy it? Did she take her nudes on it?” A: “That wouldn’t surprise me but no, it was worse and I have no idea what to do about it” B: “So are you going to tell me or keep me guessing?” A: “I don’t know, I’m scared to tell anyone.” B: “Why did you even mention it to me then?” A: “I mentioned it because I want to tell you but I don’t know if I should get you involved” B: “I’m already involved because you brought it up” A: “Fine, but can I count on you to help me?” B: “Depends on what you are wanting me to do” A: “So yesterday Ashley asked if she could borrow my camera. She said she wanted to do a photoshoot with her best friend, so I let her.” B: “You told me that already” A: “Yes, I know but I’m leading up to what happened” B: “Okay, go ahead” A: “ Anyway ...

Memory, Wish, and Image

Memory- A very fond memory I have growing up is a time when my entire family went up north for a camping trip. I remember when we were setting up the tent my older sister got stung by a misquote on her lip and it had swollen so big that entire day we all made fun of her. We took several four wheeler rides around the dirt roads. I remember riding on the back going so fast that I felt like the whole thing was going to tip over and we’d fly off. That fear is very memorable, but doesn’t stop me from riding them in the present time. Our tent sight was so cool to me as an eleven year old. We had all the cool gadgets set up outside the tent for cooking over the fire. When it was time for bed of course my dad brought our projector screen so we could watch movies. We had watched Caroline and I had never been so frightened in my life, I’ve never watched it since. I think the atmosphere had a lot to do with how scary the movie was since we were out in the middle of nowhere, and in the woods. For ...

Tragedies

A jacket worn would suffice the cold autumn breeze. However, the cold was numbing to some who endured such horrific experiences. The autumn breeze blew between the shattered windows of the dilapidated barn, the view through them stretched for miles. Trees on the other side had changed colors yet most of them were dead, and torn down to nothing but stumps of wood plastered into the ground. The grass no longer existed, the field was muddy, full of rubbery, tall weeds that were repulsive to look at. The red paint on the exterior walls of the barn began to peel, as if there was no color on them to begin with. One could imagine how stunning the barn would have been twenty years ago, but today it barely stands, there is no longer life that the barn can sustain. The tragedies in life resemble the run down barn, this barn has no purpose anymore. It’s been abandoned.

Asking Her Out

It’s a clique to think or say that she was the most beautiful women he had ever seen. However, William was an introvert who never got out much so it was the truth to say, she was. It was seven in the morning, William spent the last hour shoveling the blankets of snow off his driveway. Despite the cold William was drenched in his own sweat, and the snow that melted on the trim of his pant legs. He’s not used to the kind of weather Minnesota has to offer, he spent his entire life living in Florida until one day his job decided to move him. After shovel out in the cold for an hour he needed a quick energy boost, despite being religiously against coffee shops because it’s cheaper to make it yourself, he was too exhausted to put in the effort. He figured he’ll grab coffee then come home to change out of his dirty, smelly clothes. He though that it being seven in the morning no one would take notice of his sloppy attire. of course, that was when he saw Charlotte, she was ta...
